The Franklin County Seafood Workers Association Inc. has been an active non profit association since 1978. In the last four years under the current administration we have strived to be a definitive voice for the men and women who work within the Seafood Industry, to voice their concerns and act as their representatives between, local, state and federal government to assure their best interests are being brought to the table.
Our mission is to preserve, protect and promote the bay, the worker, and the industry. To preserve the history, traditions, culture and heritage that has been the backbone of Apalachicola and surrounding areas for over a hundred years. We promote local seafood and the local seafood industry, and we protect bay and the surrounding areas to insure that the future of the industry remain productive as a vital part of our community. Being stewards of the bay is the responsibility of each and every seafood worker and it is not one taken lightly as it has been their responsibility since the beginning and will be until the end. While other so called organizations claim to represent the seafood workers, the FCSWA is the only organization which the officers are chosen to represent them by the seafood workers themselves. We say what we mean and we mean what we say. WE ARE THE WORKING PEOPLE.
